The Sky is Falling...

Well its not exactly falling but the rain will be falling from it soon and we're supposed to get between 1-4 inches depending on where you live.  Then Saturday it could turn to flurries!!! How weird is that!?!?

Life is doing well around here.
Last night when Greg and Tori got home from church. (Greg and I are leaders in her  youth group and we take turns sitting in on the youth bible study), Gabe attacked Tori with a huge hug and said "ISSY!!!" and then the rest of the night he copied everything she said, word for word. It was hilarious!! Can you imagine a teenager having a 2 yr old mockingbird... It was the best!! We told Tori how she used to be OUR mockingbird and now she was just getting a taste of her own medicine!  Gabe was laughing so hard but everything she did or said, he did. If she sat down in the recliner, he sat right next to her.

She was laughing so it made him do it more.  he misses her so much when she goes out with her friends for 2 hours or more and Wed night church. She wouldnt have it any other way though.

The Lord has blessed me with some new clients and I really love what I do. (The Blog Cafe) I get to meet new and interesting people, design in a new way and I'm always learning new techniques and info. You pretty much have to, to keep up.

WordPress is all the rage now... but I'm pretty happy to stay here on Blogger for my personal and business site. I even love my Blogger APP so I can update from my iphone when I need or want to from wherever.

Tori has been on gluten free/dairy free diet for 8 days now and we havent noticed any changes. Gabe has been milk protein free/dairy free for 8 days as well. He, I will say has a little change. He got whiny (he's never whiny) as he came off the milk which they say can happen because it can act like an opiate to their brain. Not sure if it is though. BUT, he does try to speak more, still not clearly enough yet but Thank goodness for SIGNING TIMES!!! He signs everything he can learn and that helps. He always says the word with the sign but just not completely, and doesnt speak in sentences. So many have told me, he will when he's ready. I think because he comprehends just fine...and does try to speak in some way, that has made us keep working with him and wait to see if he just comes out talking one day in full sentences like so many tell us their children did. If not, we will get him in speech therapy for sure.

They say the milk protein, casein, can cause the brain fog that can cause speech delay. We felt it was worth trying, just in case, since  he can drink the $12 gallon milk called Rice Dream instead. Yes! $12 gallon!!! Greg used to complain about $3 gallon whole milk.. now he doesnt say a word.. and we just laugh!!

I have noticed him singing the words to his favorite shows now too. So there are small improvements, he just doesnt speak the full word. Liek he will leave off the last half of the word in pronouncing it.

What can he do? He knows his shapes (rectangle, square, heart, diamond, octagon, hexagon, circle, oval, etc.) and his colors (pink, brown, black, white, red, blue, green, orange, purple, yellow, etc) and the signs for the colors... Red is his favorite color right now. He can count from 1-12 and almost to 20. He loves counting things now. he does his fingers too. he knows his ABC's and can sign them too. SO see! he can comprehend... he soaks up everything you can give him... so that makes me super happy.

Well I have clients waiting and tori has homeschool work to do and gabe some playing, learning and stuff.
Oh if you havent tried them, you need to do those FILE FOLDER GAMES... TOTBOOKS, etc. See my links on sidebar.  They are great!!! He loves them.

OH ... this is my best idea I've loved. Take those photograph flip books you get to put your pictures in.  Instead put in flashcards.  I have his colors, shapes, sign language signs/alphabet, ABCS and he loves it. He looks at it in the car, at dr. office, at reastaurant tables, etc. It really keeps him busy. AND those flashcards dont end up everywhere!!!

have a super day...
off to work I go... LOVE IT!!! (Thank you God for all the work you send and the clients!!!)

Spaghetti winner !!!

We had spaghetti squash spaghetti tonight.
Season lightly with kosher salt, then pour 16oz sauce over top to cook.

That's where you cook it in crockpot on high 3-4hrs or on low for 6-8hrs. After use another 16oz sauce to put on top with Parmesan cheese.

Our family loves it and it's no carb... Just veggies!!! See what Gabe thinks! It tastes exactly like spaghetti no kidding!!!

Here is a direct link to video if u can't see it here.

Glutenfree diet!?

We have done more extensive research and hang found that migraines are huge symptom of gluten allergy.
So we are moving the kids to gluten free for the next months.
For gabe we believe his speech delays may be due to milk protein casein and gluten.
He knows his whole alphabet and on sign language too.
He can count to 10 and sometimes twenty.

I fpund some GF waffles and Gabe loves them.

Believe me if they weren't good he wouldn't eat um without sone mild force.

Pretty much you eat meats, poultry and veggies and fruit... Just not all those processed foods, wheat, soy, etc.

We'll keep ya posted on it!

Gabe Flirts

This is at the doctors office when gabe was sharing his wooden nickles "issy" made him that are painted each color and numbers are on them. He was just "smitten" with this little girl in the waiting room. He followed her around trying to share his nickles.

When she went across the room, Gabe didnt see her leave so he started looking for her under all those chairs you see around him and would say.. NOPE!! and then he put up his hands and said Where Go?
I pointed her out to him and he pointed at her, smiled and said 'THERE SHE IS!!!"
